I used to sew undershorts for John & our boys and it was always so fun to sew the size 2; they're so cute. Today I sewed our grandson Lane 6 pair. I had forgot how much I enjoyed sewing them. I will have to look for some fabric more suitable for a little guy than boring grey.

Wedding Dress Heirlooms

Stitched for Luke & Chasity Huisann from Chasity's wedding gown, wore by my grandson, Lane Christian Huismann

If you don't have a daughter who wants to wear your wedding gown you could have keepsakes made. This gown was perfect for a christening gown, I used the lace edge for the hem. The teddy bear was made for the bride with their names and date embroidered on the feet. The little puppies were made for her children and grandchildren.

June 2 was our first Country Market at the Crescent Bar & Grill. After some problems with my tent, the sign post breaking, the rain and the wind we had a good day. Dennis Spotts brought Karen's woodburning, Jerry & Judy were there with their knives and beading. Gail Peterson and Patty came with their beautiful painted items, Jill & Sarah Gilley were there with their naturals. Alan & Jen Presley brought some really neat wood trunks, Marty Nosie had wood planters with bear, deer and moose heads. And of couse I was there with our RagBags, quilts and diapers. We will all be back there Tues June 9, 11 to 3. I will have some baby and toddler hats. My niece Katie asked me to make Breanna a bonnet because she was getting her head sunburnt and they couldn't find bonnets in town. Well being I love to sew I said sure, and then thought "I'm sure other Mom's want these too". I made a couple of bucket hats and embroiderd some fishing lures on them, tuned out cute. I did some girly bonnets too. I took some photos that day so will post some of those.

Country Market

We have formed a Country Market along with our friends Jerry Ritcher & Judy O'Neill. The market will be held Tuesdays from 11 am to 3 pm at the Crescent Bar & Grill. They are located at 9257 E. Olson Road, Cook, MN. We will be set up every Tuesday all summer. Right now we will be selling our handcrafted items, as the gardens start producing we will have fresh veggies. There will be about 10 crafters every week. Everything for sale is locally crafted, no junk shipped in and price marked up. You will find the artists we have asked to join us make quality items. We will be attending "Earth Fest" in Mt Iron, MN on April 18th from 12-5. There will be activities in the Mt. Iron Community Center and the crafts and food will be located in the church next door. Everything about the day revolves around being green and good to the earth. Come check it out!

The Rag Bag has been a part of our family for generations.
Grandma grew up during the depression era where saving and reusing was critical. She sewed clothes and other essentials from recycled feed sacks and used clothing to save money.
As a kid my mom did the same for our clothes. I learned to sew at an early age and the Rag Bag was my greatest resource. The fabric was free and it didn’t matter if I cut out of the middle or didn’t finish the project. This freedom to experiment only made creativity easier.
In my quest to make the “perfect purse” I use my own Rag Bag to create original designs.
